2nd August
Today we walked in the rain to the woodcarver and then to Our Chalet where we had a tour. A wet but lovely day full of songs, laughing and Dean moaning! Plenty of steps on the Fitbit and a cheeky bus ride for Carolyn and Chris š
Daisy - I liked the train because it was a double decker. I hadnāt seen anything like it before!
Megan T - I liked the views we saw on the walks because they looked magical.
Poppy - While we were walking to Our Chalet, Pia and Dean were singing the whole way!
Issy - I really liked learning about all the history of Our Chalet and the women behind founding it and why it is in Switzerland.
Holly - My favourite part of the day was being at the woodcarvers. I didnāt take a picture because my camera broke but it was very satisfying watching them burn names into presents!
Pia - My favourite part was Dean and I singing our way through the Les Mis soundtrack. Weāre going to be performing the whole of Annie next.
ChloƩ - Today I made my promise as a Guide at Our Chalet. I felt very lucky to have done it in such a fabulous place with a fabulous view!
Amy - I forgot my camera at Our Chalet so I ran back to get it. Then Carolyn said āwe need a kind man to pick us upā. Two seconds later a coach pulled up and let us in. It took us all the way down the mountain whilst everyone else had to walk!
Issy C - We started the day with heavy rain. Whilst I like the rain, not everyone was as enthusiastic. After we left the woodcarvers, the rain cleared up and it got sunny later.
Bonnie - We saw goats climbing trees just to get food which was quite relatable.
Clare - Today was certainly ... eventful! For starters Carolyn and I were leading the pack up the hill (weāre always at the back - I think we fell into a parallel universe š§). Not only that but we had an eclectic mix of campfire songs (Princess Pat and Green and Yellow) and the Les Mis and Hamilton soundtrack for our day. However, I was delighted and honoured to make my promise as an adult leader at Our Chalet today (or more like running down the hill from Our Chalet so we were not late for the bus!) Whilst on the train back it was amusing to see Dean struggle to open the toilet door and eventually giving up. This evening also held unforeseen events when we met a Scout Leader from India in our hostel! He wanted a picture with the leaders in our Neckerās and gave a lovely speech to the girls about being part of a community and being a pillar of society. After this Bron found some rather interesting towel models on the girls beds. As soon as I have the pictures I will upload them tomorrow!
After a cold, rainy but spectacular day, weāre all off to bed for a fun filled day tomorrow!
Stunning views. Clouds make it look very dramatic. Isobel C would have loved the rain!
