1st August
Today we did high ropes at the Seilpark, climbing very high and having Milly rescued. We also went to the carnival. It was full of cows, trolls, water and other exciting things.
Holly - My favourite thing was watching Milly being rescued, whilst being called a snail by some Dutch kids. However, my worst part of the day was being asked by a troll to join the carnival with him - so scary!
(Video to come up when back in the U.K. (hopefully))
Hermione - My favourite part of the day was watching Holly be attacked by a troll.
April - I liked when the fire engines went past in the parade and they were spraying water out the back. It was really hit so we ran behind it and danced in the water.
Leaders - We loved the cows with headdresses. They had huge bells around their necks which made lots of noise as they went past! We also appreciate the huge clean up truck that followed to clear up the horse and cow mess.
Carolyn - I was quite annoyed at the parade. There were people going around handing out beer and we didn’t get any that time. Later in the parade, there were more people handing out what looked like beer was actually vegetable soup. That was quite disappointing.
Tomorrow is our most important day as we are going to Our Chalet, one of the 5 World Centres. We are all looking forward to it although it will be long and tiring with all the walking!
A note from Chris and the leaders
To all of you wonderful parents who have released your precious parcels to our care.
Food: we are pleased to report that all the girls are now eating very well, they have learnt that there are no seconds of they don’t eat all the vegetables or leave something on their plate. Food consumption has great greatly increased due to the energetic activities they have been doing (walking up a den down mountains). Our spirits are very high, we have received goodbye positive feedback on the activities they have somebody so far. One girl reported her favourite activity is laughing and joking with her peers.
The Guides have received messages from you on here so keep them coming!
Thank you you for sending your girls with the right clothes, they are all looking so smart compared to other Guide units we have seen. Lots of photos of them are taken by a snoring tourists, locals and passers by.
Sounds like you're all having a wonderful time. Isobel C would have loved getting wet!
Thank you all so much for all of your comments! The girls really love hearing from you! As to the elk, no autocorrect just a very tired Clare typing on an iPad 😂😂😂
Mum - I've found daisy in several pics - look! Haha. This post made me laugh so much, not just holly and Hermione's messages (cant wait for the video!) but also the leaders message - hilarious! I wonder what elk tastes like? Seriously, I am very proud of you all - what an awesome bunch of young women you are. Looking forward to tomorrow's installment xx
That looked like a wonderful treetop experience!
The carnival parade was a good one, I loved those cows! And I saw William Tell’s apple didn’t I?
Loved the picture of all your washing!!
Daisy are you avoiding the camera??
It looks like you are having the best time xxx
Well done guides and leaders. Those trees certainly looked tall! Have a great day tomorrow. We are already looking forward to the next instalment of stories, comments and photos x
