31st July

Today we walked to the train station in Wilderswill. We then got a train to Lautebrunen and from there a cable car up to the top of Grütschalp! We then walked across the mountain to the village of Mürren where we had lunch. We also had some free time in Mürren before taking a cable car down to Stechelberg. We walked to the Trümmelbach Falls where there are 10 cascades inside a mountain with water from the 3 tallest mountains in the Bernese Oberland region. We walked through the Falls and got a little bit splashed. We then got a bus to Lautebrunnen and then the train back to Wilderswill before walking back to the hostel.

FUN FACT OF THE DAY! 20,000 litres of water fall every second at Trümmelbach Falls.

Hermione - My favourite part was going on all he different modes of transport because they are so different to home, especially the cable cars.

April - I really liked the Trümmelbach Falls because it looked so cool! The water was also quite loud and we got sprayed.

Amy W - I think my favourite was the time we got to spend in Mürren. I liked having the freedom and getting to look in the different shops!

Chloé - I enjoyed seeing the mountains and all the waterfalls as they were such amazing sights to see!

Daisy - My favourite part of the day was when we were waiting for the group to catch up. Sophie got tired so she sat down on a nearby wall. When she got down she brought a mason stone from the wall with her! We had to try and push the stone back into the wall. Keep Sophie away from Stonehenge!

Sophie - Daisy is exaggerating! It was only a little stone.

Daisy - I’m not exaggerating!

Chris - Hermione has a good day - ate her lunch and dinner and she is very pleased with herself that she didn’t moan!!!

Dean - We’ve found some possible Kids Voice competitors as well as possible child genius candidates. While Pia and Bonnie were serenading is, Izzy C wowed is with her extensive knowledge of languages and mountains. I have also realised Toby can do absolutely everything. I’m convinced he is not human.

Toby - While the guides went into the village, the leaders treated ourselves to some strudel in the café!

Also Amy W had to open Dean’s Capri sun for him!

If any parents can work out what the German toilet sign says we are looking for answers! 🧐

A huge well done to all the girls who are scared of heights but took the cable cars in their stride - we are all very proud. Tomorrow brings a more relaxed day which we are all excited about!

More wonderful pictures, thank you for sharing. Glad Hermione is eating well and not living up to her nick name of ‘moaning myrtle’ 😂. Enjoy your rest day xx

P.S. This is one of the longest German words and means 'toilet brush instructions for use'. Pretty sure you might have guessed that already?! It's also a very popular hashtag on twitter across the world with multiple sharings of the picture and lots of lols!
